West Kingdom Kneeling Carpets

The Needleworkers of the Kingdom of the West are creating kneeling carpets for the Kingdom. They are to place in front of the thrones. There are two King's side and Queen's side, and they are being stitched in 5 pieces each, then assembled. I have been assigned the center section of the King's side. This is a double-sized section, so I'll need help.

I got the materials and directions this week. I'll assemble the bars and stretch the canvas in the next two weeks, and map out the design on the canvas. Then I'll be ready for help.

The project is being done in Contenental Stitch with wool on 10-count needlepoint canvas. What that means is one easy stitch, big yarn and needles, and you're all going to help!

I'd like each Shire member to plan to do at least a few stitches on the carpet. I'll give instructions and guidance - you can't really make an irreversable mistake. So look for me with a big frame and a basket of yarn - at least to be ready to run the other way! But really, it's one easy stitch, and I think it'd be very exciting to have each Shire member represented with at least a few stitches. Did I mention that part about help?
